INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works is holding a rapid hiring event on Tuesday with the goal of hiring up to 50 people.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Garfield Park Family Center on Pagoda Drive.
Indy DPW will interview individuals on the spot. Most, but not all, of the open positions require a CDL. Some of the open positions include:
- Maintenance Operation Technician
- Heavy Equipment Operator
- Heavy Equipment Technician
- Refuse Collection Driver
After interviewing applicants at Tuesday’s event, Indy DPW intends to make job offers by Wednesday, Oct. 20 so new hires can begin working on Monday, Oct. 25. Offers will be contingent on passing a background check, human performance evaluation, and drug test.
The minimum starting rate for positions is $21.30 per hour, with many positions offering a higher rate. Benefits include paid time off and full health benefits.
