INDIANAPOLIS — Starting Wednesday, you can get to know the officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Their new series “Before the Badge,” has premiered on YouTube. The series will profile an IMPD officer each month and show what they did before joining the department and how it helps them now.
Chief Communication Officer Alexa Green said the series is designed to humanize and highlight the men and women who serve for IMPD and give the community a new perspective on the officers.
She said IMPD has officers from nearly every background. The first episode highlights Lt. Dan Green. He used to be a middle school teacher in Houston.
Green said with this series she hopes to show the past experiences and skillsets the officers have brought with them and how it makes them more well-rounded to serve and protect the community of Indianapolis.
