INDIANAPOLIS–A Butler University basketball player has been charged with rape. The charges are for an incident that happened in February.

An arrest record confirms that Carols Johnson, Jr., of Benton Harbor, Michigan, also known as “Scooby”, faces several charges from an incident on Feb. 4. Those charges include sexual battery and forcible rape.

Court documents say the rape happened on campus and in Johnson’s dorm room. His accuser is a fellow student who told police that Johnson invited her into his room while she was in the building looking for a friend, and raped her on his bed.

Police say they found forensic evidence, including blood-stained clothes, and have testimony from the victim and surveillance footage showing Johnson walking the victim back to her own building, where she told friends about the incident.

Johnson’s roommate denied hearing any sounds of intercourse or rape.
