INDIANAPOLIS — Three shootings overnight throughout Indianapolis, one of them resulting in a person killed.

Police were called to an area near 47th Street & Georgetown Road on a shots-fired call. They arrived to find a person with a gunshot wound. They later died, say police.

“Shortly after arriving at the hospital the victim was pronounced deceased by medical staff,” said Ofc. William Young. “IMPD Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation.”

Close to midnight Thursday, IMPD officers responded to a report of a person shot along 16th Street on the west side. They arrived to find some hurt, but not with gunshot wounds. They were later notified of another individual along Crawfordsville Road who was shooting in relation to the first call to 16th street.

Adding to that, another person walked into Eskenazi Hospital with a gunshot wound which they think is also connected.

Finally, two more separate shootings happened early Friday morning. One was on North Mitthoefer Road on the far east side shortly after 2:00 a.m. Then at around 5:00 a.m., someone was shot along Capitol Avenue downtown.

Both of those shooting victims are recovering at the hospital.
