GREENWOOD, Ind. — The City of Greenwood will soon begin work on an extension to its trail system that will connect Northwest Park to Northwest Annex Park.

“This trail connecting Northwest Park to Northwest Annex Park will serve as a critical link between two of our city’s most beloved parks, adding to an already extensive network of trails,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers.

The 8-foot-wide trail will run along the northern side of Pleasant Run Creek and will stretch for nearly 1,600 feet. The trail will also connect to a sidewalk off of Easy Street for additional access.

The trail has been in the works for nearly 20 years, according to Greenwood Parks & Recreation Director Rob Taggart.

Greenwood residents will be able to walk, jog, or bike along the trail this coming fall.
