INDIANAPOLIS–Rain is expected to return in much of Indiana Wednesday, says the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

After a foggy Tuesday, rain is supposed to show up sometime Wednesday afternoon and go through Thursday night.

“There is a chance for some showers and thunderstorms during that time. We could get some decent rainfall with it, maybe up to an inch or so, mainly across our southern areas,” said Tara Dudzik, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Dudzik says the chances for severe weather are low during that time, but flooding is a possibility.

“That’s especially the case for places in southern Indiana that have already received quite a bit of rain this week and last week,” said Dudzik.

Dudzik says the weather will clear up by the weekend.

“Saturday looks like it’s going to be sunny with highs in the mid-50s. Sunday looks to be sunny with highs in the low 60s,” said Dudzik.
