IMPD Chief Chris Bailey: We’re Not A Sanctuary City

IMPD Chief Chris Bailey: We’re not a sanctuary city. IMPD Chief defends the department from criticism of his recent social media post to whether or not the force would assist ICE if asked
Certainly, we’ve had so much going on from the Indy 500 to the NBA Finals to now WNBA All Star Weekend. Man, there is a lot happening in this city. And there’s also a tremendous amount of violence taking place. In this city, kids shooting each other, kids getting killed, others getting killed, and there has been certainly. Approaches taken, but one questions whether or not those approaches bring us value. Is it really all about the police, or lack of police presence, or police somehow being incapable? Is there something else at play and police somehow just get dumped on, if you will, for anything that goes wrong? Chief Bailey joins us right now of the IMPD and I appreciate you taking the time to be here. I have a, a certainly a, a series of subjects that I want to discuss with you, but I want to start where we start something that that you did a video that you created about wanting to have a peaceful weekend. And in that video you said, “I’m begging for this.” You defended the video:
Tony’s interview with the Chief talks about the video, the culture of violence in our city, and whether or not the IMPD would assist ICE if asked. The interview is comprehensive and worthy of your listen:
