Pendleton Man Convicted of Killing Someone During Drone Purchase
INDIANAPOLIS--A man from Pendleton was found guilty of killing someone who was trying to sell a drone in Lawrence last spring.
Richard Chambers was convicted of killing Brad McKinney March 30, 2018. Police say McKinney was trying to sell a drone to a man from Lawrence when Chambers, who knows that man, pulled out a gun and shot McKinney in the head.
McKinney later died at a hospital.
The Lawrence Police Department said one of their officers heard the gunshot and saw Chambers running away. Neighbors helped police find Chambers and he was eventually arrested.
Chambers will be sentenced June 20 at 10 am. The motive of the shooting is unclear.
