INDIANAPOLIS — A woman pled guilty to reckless homicide Monday after she killed two people in two different crashes.
58-year-old Kelli Anderson was accused of killing Dr. Brian Dillman and Kiana Burns in 2022 after doctors told her not to drive.
Dillman, who was an emergency room physician, was hit by Anderson as he was walking on a sidewalk, which was near 49th Street and Meridian Street in May 2022. Anderson told officers that she took medications to help with seizures, and she says she might have blacked out, which may have resulted in the fatal crash. Anderson was discharged, but doctors told her not to drive for six months until she’s cleared by doctors.
Less than a month later, Anderson was also involved in a crash with eight other cars, which killed Burns as she slammed into her car. Burns died from her injuries.
After Anderson pled guilty, prosecutors say her license will be suspended for six years, and they requested a maximum of three years in prison and three years on probation.
Anderson’s hearing is set for April 10th.
