FORT WAYNE, Ind.–Two women from Fort Wayne were arrested earlier this month. They are accused of trafficking children.
Police have identified them as 21-year-old Leticia Granados and 20-year-old Harley Cooley.
Court documents say a 17-year-old girl spoke with someone on Instagram about leaving home and trying to find someone to give her a place to live, which is how police believe she connected with both Granados and Cooley.
On December 5, 2024, officers say both Granados and Cooley picked up the 17-year-old girl, threw her cell phone out the window, gave her a new cell phone to use, and took her to a house in Fort Wayne. That’s where they believe both Granados and Colley taught her about sex trafficking.
A State Police detective found pornographic images of the 17-year-old online. That detective claims to have identified Cooley in some of the images through her tattoos.
A family member found the 17-year-old at the hotel in Fort Wayne on December 9, court documents say.
On February 20, 2025, investigators with State Police SWAT, Bluffton Police, and the FBI served a search warrant at an address on Franklin Avenue in Fort Wayne. While serving that search warrant, they say they found another human trafficking victim along with “an amount of suspected fentanyl.”
They also believe other victims were involved. Incidents involving both Granados and Cooley are linked to both Allen and Marion counties.
In a news release sent out on Wednesday, State Police say Granados and Cooley are each charged with two counts of promotion of a human sex trafficking of a child (level 3 felony) and one count of child exploitation/production of child pornography (level 5 felony).
If anyone has information involving Leticia Granados or Harley Cooley having contact with victims for sex trafficking, you are asked to contact the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post at 260-432-8661.
