Pike High School Student Arrested after Gun Found

INDIANAPOLIS — A student was arrested last Thursday after a gun was found.

Indy Metro Officers investigated a case where they found Mason Smith, who attended Pike High School in Indianapolis online.

An assistant principal told police that when Mason Smith was sent to the office after being told to leave many times, that’s when he smelled drugs coming from him. Then, they looked through Smith’s backpack, and they say they found a gun and a magazine, which that’s when the school called police.

Officers say the gun was stolen, and then Smith was taken to Marion County Jail, where he faces charges for stealing and carrying a gun.
