INDIANAPOLIS — Incumbent Attorney General Todd Rokita is projected to continue serving the state of Indiana in his current role, after defeating Democrat Destiny Wells Tuesday evening.

As of 8 p.m. Tuesday, he had about 63% of votes. Rokita says he hopes to address illegal immigration, and he intends to continue advocating for lower pharmaceutical prices.

Illegal immigration has become one of Rokita’s main talking points, especially as smaller cities like Logansport have recently reported influxes of people. Rumors also circulated earlier this year that Haitian immigrants were eating people’s cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio.

The leader believes his victory proves that the Hoosier people want someone “in their corner,” and he claims he is proud to have run a positive ad campaign against Wells.
