INDIANAPOLIS –Two women in need received donated cars on Thursday as part of the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides program.
The presentations took place at the Family Promise National Convention, an organization focused on addressing family homelessness.
Suzanna Manual, a single mother of four, was given a 2019 Jeep Compass. Manual, who completed the Family Promise Shelter Program, lost her car in a hit-and-run but has maintained stable employment.
The car will help her continue working and pursue her education.
Tameaka Taylor, who previously walked hours to work and appointments, was given a 2019 Chevy Cruze LT. Enrolled in nursing school, the car will provide Taylor with reliable transportation for work and classes.
The cars were donated by GEICO and refurbished by Caliber Collision and Collision Restoration.
The Recycled Rides program has donated over 3,300 vehicles since 2007.
