WINDER, Ga. — Accused Georgia school shooter 14-year-old Colt is making his first court appearance, two days after he allegedly shot more than a dozen people at Apalachee High School, killing four.

He’s in Barrow County Superior Court where Judge Currie Mingledorf informed Gray the maximum penalty he faces is death.

The judge also informed Gray he had the right to remain silent. He’s being charged as an adult. Several family members of the victims were also in the courtroom.

The suspect’s father is also scheduled to make an appearance this morning. Colin Gray was arrested and hit with multiple charges, including second-degree murder and manslaughter after his 14-year-old son shot and killed four people and injured nine others at Apalachee High School.

Gray told investigators he bought the AR-15 style rifle as a holiday present for his son in December 2023, the same year the boy was investigated for making school shooting threats online.
