MILWAUKEE — Indiana Congressman Jim Banks will be one of the main speakers at the Republican National Convention. The convention starts tonight in Milwaukee, where delegates from all 50 states will meet to choose their nominees for top political positions.
“I remember a year and a half ago when I got into the race to run to be Indiana’s next United States Senator Donald Trump had my back from day one,” Jim Banks told WIBC’s Tony Katz. “He endorsed me immediately; he was my first phone call when I kicked off my campaign in mid-January 2023. He told me he would endorse me from the outset.”
Banks will be one of the main speakers on Tuesday at 7 PM Eastern. His speech at the RNC will also be on his 45th birthday.
“I grew up as the son of a factory worker and a nursing home cook,” Banks said. “Never in my parent’s wildest dreams would they grow up to be a U.S. Senator.”
Banks is expected to discuss keeping the GOP as the party for the working class and the importance of new conservative leaders.
“I truly believe the agenda of the left is to destroy the United States,” he added.
