The Lincoln Project has admitted to orchestrating a racist campaign stunt at Glenn Youngkin’s rally in Virginia last week. The group hired actors to pose as White supremacists with tiki torches at the rally to make Youngkin’s supporters appear to be racists.

Co-founder of the Lincoln Project, Stuart Stevens defended the group’s efforts of painting Youngkin in a bad light. Stevens told CNN they were helping Democrats learn “how to win, how to play hardball.”

He defended the stunt by saying the Republican candidate for governor of Virginia never denounced former President Trump’s comments that there were “very fine people” on both sides of the Unite The Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017.

Tony Katz says the stunt is just another ugly failed tactic by the group.

“These people have no shame, no style, and they have nothing.”

Youngkin’s Democratic opponent, Terry McAuliffe condemned the group’s actions.
