MONROE COUNTY, Ind.–A homeless man was formally charged with attempted murder on Wednesday.

Police say 36-year-old Jerry Jackson shot two people back on June 18 in Bloomington in the 4600 block of S. College Drive. That’s located off South Old State Road 37 just southwest of its intersection with West Gordon Pike.

An arrest warrant for Jackson was issued on June 20 and he was taken into custody on Wednesday. Court records show that along with attempted murder, he’s also charged with two mid-level felony counts of aggravated battery.

They believe Jackson shot a 35-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man. Both of those victims were treated at a hospital and are expected to make a full recovery.

While police say they don’t have an exact motive for the shooting, they do believe this was a targeted incident.
