One Dead in Single-Vehicle Crash on Indy’s Northwest Side

INDIANAPOLIS – A person has died following a single-vehicle crash at an apartment complex on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the Reserve at White River apartment complex, which is in the 2700 block of Pixel Drive, near Lafayette Road, shortly before 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Medical personnel arrived at the scene and took the man to a hospital. He was in bad shape but later died from his injuries.
Officers say the driver involved in the crash reached out to them and stayed at the scene. Police believe the crash was an accident, but the driver will undergo a blood draw, which is standard protocol.
“This is just disappointing and sad for the driver of the vehicle, and we feel for the victim’s family,” IMPD Officer Tommy Thompson said. “From what we’ve gathered so far, investigators believe that this is just truly, truly a sad accident.”
IMPD is investigating the crash.
