NWS: Scattered Storms Likely in Indiana This Week

STATEWIDE–Indiana is going to be experiencing an “active weather” pattern this week.
“We have pretty good chances of rain returning this week at times. Wednesday is really when our rain chances increase and those chances stick around through the weekend and even into early next week as well,” said Greg Melo, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
Melo says there the threat for strong to severe storms on Wednesday is possible, but it’s a low threat.
“The primary threat would be damaging wind gusts, possible large hail, and we can’t rule out locally heavy rainfall as well,” said Melo.
You’ll also see some hazy skies across Indiana for the next couple of days because of smoke from the Canadian wildfires trickling down to the Hoosier state.
“That will eventually clear out later this week as the smoke starts to move northeast of our area,” said Melo.
Temperatures will also be in the 80s across Indiana for the next several days.
