AUBURN, Ind. — Indiana State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting, where one man was shot in Auburn Sunday evening around 6:30.

A person went inside a home in the 300 block of West 11th Street, near West 12th Street and South Van Buren Street, and aimed a gun at another person. Officers arrived at the scene, but the suspect ran off.

Police later found the suspect near the home, who still had the gun, and then both him and officers opened fire, which led to the man getting shot. Officers had medics arrive at the scene.

No officers were injured in the shooting, but those involved will be put on administrative leave, which is standard in these cases.
