Muncie Man Charged After Roommate Finds Hidden Camera

MUNCIE, Ind.–A man from Muncie is under arrest, charged with voyeurism, which is a felony, after the man’s roommate and her mother discovered a hidden camera in their shared apartment.

According to the arrest report, Anthony Castro, 23, who had been a life-long friend of the 20-year-old roommate, admitted to police when he got home from work Thursday, that he was the one who had placed the camera.

Castro told police that the roommate’s mother had lived there and had caused trouble, so he placed the camera to see if she had been coming back into the apartment. But, police weren’t buying it because the camera was discovered in a smoke alarm above the roommate’s bed.

The roommate and her mother had become suspicious when they noticed the smoke alarms had been moved and decided to check out the alarm, since it had been placed above her bed.

Inside they found the camera and the wiring.

When asked why he would need to place a camera there to catch the mother, Castro didn’t have an answer, and was arrested.
