Monroe County Deputy Arrested for Injuring Daughter

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office probationary deputy was arrested after he beat his infant child, which caused injuries.
Police were told on Monday that Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital was treating the child for her injuries.
Court documents say the father and officer, 25-year-old Noel Hernandez, denied assaulting his daughter, saying “I would never hurt my baby.”
Doctors say the infant’s injuries were caused by Hernandez on purpose.
Hernandez was taken to jail, charged with neglect of a dependent and aggravated battery, and subsequently fired from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
