Micah Beckwith Promoting Faith-Based Communities To Tackle Social Ills
I am a fan of the expression, “the left always overplays their hand and so much of a fan that I coined the phrase. It was me, I did it.” And one of the things the left said was “if you elect Micah Beckwith as Lieutenant Governor, we’re all going to die… If Micah Beckwith became Lieutenant governor, nothing would ever be the same. Every everything would be a mess. You would just, it would just be beyond awful.”It’s not that, it’s not that at all. He’s Lieutenant Governor, and Indiana is still here. The question is, what are we trying to get done in the waning days of this session? And as now, the hard work begins. Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith joins us right now. You were supposed to be the destroyer Lieutenant Governor.. what happened?
Well, I don’t think they know me at all. I think they like to make me character of you know, shove religion down people’s throats. You’re all going to come to my church. You’re going to have to show up every Sunday… accept Jesus as your Lord and savior or else, you know, and that’s I’ve never said that. I’ve never even implied that… I mean, they’ve been on me for years trying to find things that he’s a creep or there’s something in his closet that it was gonna come out and there’s not anything. I’ve just been thankful, that God’s blessed me. He’s protected me and I’ve ran for office and the people loved it
Now here’s where the rubber meets the road, right? The House has everything the Senate was looking at in the first session. The Senate has everything the House was looking at. This is where we now go to say, hey, are we going to see legislation? … What is it that you’re looking at? That either the Senate or the House that you would like to see over the finish line?
Well, what’s important first and foremost, it’s this property tax reduction plan. So Governor Braun put out a a good plan.
The House and the Senate are going tearing it apart and putting their own swords in and so we’re going to see what’s going to come at the end of the day…. I know he’s (Braun) passionate about healthcare, making sure that health care prices come down, that there’s more transparency in healthcare. And so that’s a big agenda… For my office, we’re certainly trying to connect the faith-based communities to address the homelessness, mental health, the poverty, the food insecurities in these counties. I don’t think governments good at doing those types of things.
This was about how you’re looking into your office adding $3,000,000 to support taxpayer funded faith based initiatives. That’s how it’s reported… So I want to start with a basic question: “Which faith?”
