And then late last night, a vote of 217 to 215, the budget deal passes the House, but this is just the start of a long, long process. Congresswoman Victoria Spartz joins me right now from the Indiana 5th District…. She was one of the people who was questioning what it is they were seeing in this budget resolution and decided to come along at the last moment. The congresswoman joins me right now. Let’s start with the basics, Congresswoman. You vote for this. You’ve got $2 trillion in federal spending over the next 10 years. You’ve got the Trump tax cuts that remain. Extending those 2017 Trump tax cuts all part of this and it raises the debt limit. Talk to me about what it is you saw in this that you said, OK, there’s something here we can work with.
Well, it’s only in government people think when you start negotiation at the floor. I understand very well. Because I came from the business world, it’s a ceiling, you know. So, when you go to send something to the Senate with that which doesn’t want to do anything, it’s going to get only worse. So, you have to really start in the position where you can negotiate.
