IOWA CITY, IA.–The Iowa Hawkeye men’s basketball team led by as many as 30 points and ended up dominating the Indiana Hoosiers 85-60 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena Saturday night in Iowa City.

After trailing by double digits early, the Hoosiers raced ahead to lead 28-25 with just over six minutes left in the first half, but the Hawkeyes stormed back to lead 43-33 at halftime. It wasn’t long before Iowa’s lead reached more than 20 in the second half.

Indiana turned the ball over 16 times which led to 24 Iowa points. The Hawkeyes also outscored the Hoosiers in fast break points 26-2.

Iowa’s Payton Sandfort led all scorers with 23 points and made four of his nine three-point shots. Iowa also had 5 players in double figures.

Indiana’s leading scorer was Myles Rice with 12 points and five assists.

The Hoosiers drop to 13-4 on the year and 4-2 in the Big Ten. Iowa improves to 12-4 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten.
