MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. — State Police are still investigating after one person was injured in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday morning, and a wanted woman was arrested.

Officers went to a property on State Road 19 in Peru around 8:30 a.m., after learning that someone had been “banging on” windows.  There, they apparently saw a person holding a gun outside of a nearby trailer.

They say that person pointed the gun at officers and was soon shot by a trooper.  That individual was then taken to a hospital, where he/she was last said to be “receiving treatment.”

Two other people inside that trailer were initially “barricaded” before surrendering.  So, a SWAT Team and hostage negotiators came to help.

One of the two was later determined to be Tisha Medina, who was wanted in Cass County for various drug-related crimes.  Specific information about the other person was not provided.

Thankfully, no one else was hurt.  The trooper who shot the armed suspect is now on administrative leave, as is standard in these cases.
