IMPD Releases More Info About Christmas Day Shooting Suspect

INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Metro Police announced earlier this week that a man had been arrested for his role in a fatal Christmas Day shooting. Now, they believe that he is an illegal immigrant.

Officers initially identified the suspect as 35-year-old Andres Garzon.

But, in an update Friday, they revealed that his real name is Dauzon Garzon. They also learned that he had entered the U.S. illegally.

IMPD believes Garzon shot six people at a home in the 6400 block of Meadowlark Drive Wednesday afternoon. One woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Garzon was apparently found hiding in the bushes and was eventually arrested for murder. At this time, police think a “disturbance” at the home had led to the shooting.
