WASHINGTON — The Senate passed a funding bill to prevent a government shutdown, just minutes after the midnight deadline.
The deal will keep the government running at least through March, and contains $100 billion for disaster relief, $30 billion for farmers, and a one-year extension on the farm bill.
The bill now heads to President Biden’s desk for his final approval and signature. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced, “There will be no government shutdown right before Christmas.”
