DENVER, CO.—The Denver Broncos overcame a halftime deficit and hammered the Indianapolis Colts 31-13 on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High.
The Colts had a 13-7 lead at halftime. They appeared to score a touchdown on a run by Jonathan Taylor, but Taylor dropped the ball at the goal line, which gave the ball back to Denver.
The Colts would not score in the second half. They turned it over five times.
With Denver ahead 17-13, the Colts had the ball and ran a trick play. Quarterback Anthony Richardson threw the ball to Adonai Mitchell. Mitchell threw the ball back across the field and it was snagged by Nik Bonnito. Bonnito ran it back 50 yards for a touchdown.
Richardson threw for 172 yards and two interceptions.
The loss drops the Colts record to 6-8 on the year and it puts a dent in their chances to make the playoffs.
The Colts face the 3-11 Tennessee Titans next Sunday.
