NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Four men from Louisville, Kentucky were arrested for shooting and killing 18-year-old Bryce Gerlach.

  • Isaiah Page: Attempted murder, attempted battery, criminal recklessness, and a firearm used in commission of offense.
  • Joshua Smith: Murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, and aggravated battery.
  • Shermichael Smith: Murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, and aggravated battery.
  • Darius Tuff: Murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, and aggravated battery.

Police say all four of the men opened fire, which happened for over 30 seconds, in the parking lot outside the Harvest Homecoming festival in October. They shot and killed Gerlach, who was a student and a football player at Corydon Central High School, as well as a 22-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman.

Police say one of the men even sold his gun after the festival.

New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said the crimes were an “evil, reckless and heinous shooting” and said the men were “complete innocent bystanders.”

Bailey says that police carried out many search warrants and managed many interviews, which helped identify the suspects. He says that the case is under investigation, and he expects more charges will be filed.
