STATEWIDE--Forecasters in Indiana say the state is about to see a “wild weather week.”

“We’re starting with highs in the 60s and we might even approach 70 by Tuesday. We expect mostly rain, but Wednesday through Friday is when things get tricky. That’s when many areas could see their first snowflakes,” said Cody Moore, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Moore says the amount of snow is uncertain.

“We’re not calling for any accumulations as of yet. But much of central and northern Indiana looks like the areas of the state most likely to get at least one round of snow and that could trickle down to south central Indiana,” said Moore.

After temperatures drop during the week, they will rebound slightly back into the 50s this weekend.

“That’s normal for this time of year though,” said Moore.

Moore is concerned about people driving in what will be the first snow of the year.

“Everyone’s not used to driving with these types of conditions since last winter, so make sure you give yourself some extra time to get to your destination Wednesday through Friday,” said Moore.
