INDIANAPOLIS — A man who caused a crash and also had a gun he wasn’t supposed to have has been arrested by police.
Indy Metro Police say they nabbed Eric Simpson as part of the Indiana Crime Gun Task Force. Simpson had been known to police as someone not supposed to be carrying a gun after he was arrested in February for having a gun with an illegal machine gun conversion device.
When he realized he was spotted that night in July he took off in his car and led police on a chase, at the end of which he crashed his car by flipping it along Kessler Boulevard North Drive on the north side and killed someone.
Simpson ended up getting away, but he was finally caught again last week after evading police for several months. He’s now charged with reckless homicide on top of the firearms charges. The cops also found marijuana on his as well so drug charges are also at play.
