Chuck Devore: We Need To Shoot These Things Down
These drones that are buzzing, these military bases that this got reported in in in the Wall Street Journal, other places, and somehow we’re doing nothing about it. Chuck Devore joins me right now, vice president of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, TPF. Access Public Policy Foundation served in the California legislature and was a part of the Reagan era Pentagon. Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel. I’m glad you’re talking about it. I’m glad you took a look at this. It’s a very strange story that for days on weeks now, there have been these drones.
Well, Tony, I think we’re pretty sure where they’re coming from. They’re they’re from China, 99.5% certain that their state actors, these are large drones.

Some of this large is 20 feet long. They serve as mother ships with quadcopters coming off of them and hovering low to the ground. When you think about it, only China and Russia really have that sort of technology and the desire to penetrate our bases. It it’s China’s bottom line… The Biden Harris administration desperately does not want to provoke the People’s Republic of China or the Chinese Communist Party. Everything that they’re doing is being done to try to lessen tensions with the Chinese Communist Party, they don’t want to confrontation and unfortunately the way the Chinese Communist Party operates is very much under the Leninist principle of you probe with bayonets. If you encounter steel, you withdraw, if you encounter mush, you continue. And so, with a very weak response to the Chinese espionage balloon in early 2023, where we allowed it to overfly some, what was it, 11 states before shooting it down over the ocean.

And the argument was, “ohh, you know, it might hurt people.” Well, excuse me. It was drifting over both Alaska, Canada and Montana for a considerable period of time. Very sparsely populated areas. They could have shot it down without much risk.
The escalation is by our not responding, which then invites more Chinese probing and more Chinese aggression…. kudos to the Wall Street Journal for finally breaking it…
Yeah, we need to shoot these things down. We need to take them apart, figure out conclusively where they come from. And then we need to return the favor, much similar to what Reagan did during the Reagan administration.
