Police: Newburgh Man Molested Girl During Softball Pitching Lesson

SPENCER COUNTY, Ind.– A man from Newburgh is facing child seduction and child molesting charges.
On Monday afternoon, State Police said 71-year-old Roger Ford was arrested at his home around 12:10 pm. That is not long after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The investigation into Ford started July 11. That’s when State Police say they were tipped off that Ford had inappropriately touched the victim.
They say their investigation revealed that Ford molested the 11-year-old girl during a private softball pitching lesson at a location near Lamar.
After he was arrested, he taken to the Spencer County Jail.
The charges against Ford are the following:
- Child Seduction with Child 13 years or younger, Level 3 Felony
- Child Molesting with a Child under 14 years of age, Level 4 Felony
