Connecticut Sun v Indiana Fever

INDIANAPOLIS–The Indiana Fever got their second straight win by knocking off the Connecticut Sun 84-80 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Sun have the second-best record in the WNBA at 22-8.

Indiana led by nine at halftime, but the Sun stormed back to cut the lead to three at the end of the third quarter. They took the lead at 80-78 on a Marina Mabrey three-pointer, but the Fever held the Sun scoreless over the final 2:51. Aliyah Boston made a layup to tie the game followed by Caitlin Clark hitting a shot. Then Lexie Hull made two free throws after being fouled with 19 seconds left to seal the triumph.

The Fever improved to 15-16 with the victory. All five of their starters scored in double figures. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 23 points followed by Clark with 19 and Hull with 17. Both Boston and Nalyssa Smith each had 10.

Dijonai Carrington led the Sun with 19 points.

The Sun had beaten the Fever in each of the previous three meetings before this game.
