LAS VEGAS — Democratic candidate for president Kamala Harris says she will end federal income taxes on tips if elected president.
Vice President Harris announced her proposal Saturday at a rally in Las Vegas, and said if elected, “we will continue our fight for working families of America, including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.”
The new policy pledge is similar to a proposal made earlier this year by former President Donald Trump.
Trump responded to Harris’s proposal Saturday night by claiming on Truth Social that she had “copied his idea,” and that Harris had none of her own.
The two presidential candidates are scheduled for their first debate September 10th, presented by ABC News.
