VIGO COUNTY, Ind. — The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that Sheriff John Plasse has died at the age of 60. Now, his family has provided more information about his funeral.
Plasse died Wednesday morning following a “brave battle against cancer.” Sheriff’s Office staff say, “We invite all to…hold his family in prayers for comfort and peace in the midst of a terrible loss.”
His funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at the Hulman Center on North 8th Street in Terre Haute. Prior to this, you are encouraged to attend a public visitation from noon to 2 p.m.
But, while these events are open to the public, Plasse’s burial ceremony is not. Instead, that will be reserved for the man’s family and friends, as well as members of the military and law enforcement.
The procession route should be released in the near future. You can also honor the man’s life at the memorial in front of the Sheriff’s Office on West Honey Creek Drive.
