INDIANAPOLIS — For a team that’s still putting the pieces together and learning as they go, there’s one thing for certain for the Indiana Fever: casting a shadow over the Mercury.
The Indiana Fever picked up the win and walked away with-it Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, defeating the Phoenix Mercury 95 to 86. Phoenix had the edge in three-pointers, but Indiana managed to string together leads in field goals, turnovers, and rebounds to pick up their tenth win of the season.
Of course, there was star rookie Caitlin Clark, who recorded her 5th-straight game with double-digit assists.
Clark also broke the Fever franchise record for assists in a single quarter with seven.
The 10-14 Fever have the Mercury, now falling to 12-11, once again August 16th. Before then, Indiana will have to contend with the Minnesota Lynx and Dallas Wings.
