Governor Mike Braun posted on X that he met with the new members of the IEDC board for the first time since he appointed them.

“Today I met with the new members of the IEDC board. Excited to work with this great group of entrepreneurial leaders. Great things are coming at the new IEDC, all focused on our ‘North Star’ goals: higher wages and new jobs for Hoosiers,” said Braun on X.

Braun has assured that this board will differ from its predecessors and that they will be transparent with Hoosiers. He also said they will place a greater emphasis on small businesses, alongside its traditional focus on larger enterprises.

“Keeping the ones you’ve got is a lot easier than trying to lure the ones in you don’t have and that’s where I think, maybe, the focus on smaller businesses and giving them the odds to get through the gauntlet is an organic way of making our economy healthy in the long run,” Governor Braun said.

Former House Speaker John Gregg, who is one of three Democrats Gov. Mike Braun appointed, has also highlighted the importance of transparency with this new board.

“The very first thing told to me by the administration was that they wanted this to be transparent going forward,” Gregg said. “I take them at their word and we’re going to be transparent starting with today with our first meeting of the board.”
