INDIANAPOLIS — The first Spirit Airlines nonstop flight from Indianapolis to Ft. Lauderdale departs Thursday morning.

The inaugural flight becomes one of 14 nonstop daily flights from Indy to 10 unique Florida destinations.

Spirit also offers nonstop flights from Indianapolis to Las Vegas, Orlando, Fort Meyers, and Tampa.

“This is Spirit’s first nonstop flight from Indianapolis to Ft. Lauderdale,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Sr. Director of Commercial Enterprise Marsha Stone. “For those ready to return safely to the skies and a warm winter destination, Spirit is giving Hoosiers one more option to visit the Sunshine State.”

Allegiant Air and Southwest Airlines also offer nonstop flights to Ft. Lauderdale.

“We are thrilled to continue expanding our service, giving our Guests More Go from Indianapolis to the Sunshine State,” said John Kirby, vice president of Network Planning for Spirit Airlines. “In addition to providing non-stop service to South Florida, this new route will also offer connections to 20 major cities in the U.S. through our Fort Lauderdale gateway.”
