VIGO COUNTY, Ind. — A four-year-old girl from Whitehall, Ohio was found safe Wednesday night after being kidnapped by a family member.

Detectives from the Whitehall Police Department were able to track the kidnapper’s car, and told Indiana State Police he would be headed their way.

Putnamville police eventually found the car traveling on I-70 near the ten mile marker, and stopped the car.

During the stop, the trooper found the four-year-old girl safe and unharmed.

The family member who kidnapped her was Gil A. Landaverde, 37, of Indianapolis. An investigation revealed Landaverde already had an arrest warrant out of Marion County for kidnapping a different child.

Landaverde is now in the Vigo County Jail. The four-year-old girl was reunited with her family.
