INDIANAPOLIS — A Torch Red 2020 Corvette Stingray coupe will serve as the Official Pace Car for the 104th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, August 23.

The pace car will be driven by General Motors President Mark Reuss.

This marks the 17th time a Corvette has paced the field, starting in 1978, and the 31st time a Chevrolet has led the field, dating back to 1948.

“It’s truly an honor to have the opportunity to be behind the wheel of the mid-engine Corvette Pace Car at such a historic race as the Indy 500,” said Reuss.

The Torch Red Corvette Stingray can go from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 194 mph. It has been named the MotorTrend Car of the Year for 2020.
