BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A man from Brownsburg is accused of trying to kill a woman in Bloomington.
18-year-old Kiandre Owens is charged with attempted murder.
According to Bloomington Police, an 18-year-old woman was found bleeding on a Bloomington sidewalk on the night of Aug. 5.
The woman had multiple knife wounds, including a cut to her throat, a cut to her abdomen, and several knife wounds to the head. She was taken to IU Health Bloomington, where she spoke with investigators prior to emergency surgery and told them Owens had stabbed her.
Owens checked himself into the same hospital a short time later for treatment of a knife wound to the hand. After receiving treatment, Owens was interviewed at the Bloomington Police Department. At the end of the interview, he was arrested for attempted murder and taken to the Monroe County Jail.
