SPEEDWAY, Ind. — Practice for the Indianapolis 500 will be starting a day later than planned.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway says the first day of practice, which includes rookie orientation, will be starting on Wednesday, August 12. It had originally been set to start a day earlier than that.

No reason was given for the change.

The move comes days after the NTT IndyCar Series postponed a race at Mid-Ohio that was supposed to go off this weekend until September or October.

The Indianapolis 500 is now the next race on the IndyCar schedule and is still set to happen on August 23rd without fans.
