CARMEL, Ind. — Two people are dead and a third person is injured after a shooting in Carmel.
Carmel Police were called at around 8 a.m. to the 143000 block of Riverrock Court about a person threatening suicide.
While officers were responding, they learned that gunshots were fired and that the person who fired the gunshots had left the location.
Upon arrival in the area, police found two people with gunshot wounds.
Officers found the suspect nearby and one officer fired their weapon.
One victim and the suspect were pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers believe the suspect shot both victims.
The shootings are still under investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information or evidence, such as surveillance video recordings, about the shooting to call the Carmel PD non-emergency number at 317-571-2580 and request to speak with an officer.
