INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were shot and killed in separate shootings across Marion County Sunday night and into Monday morning.

Indianapolis Metro Police say they were called about two people shot early Monday, one of whom was shot along Lynhurst Drive on the southwest side near Plainfield Avenue. They say another person was shot close by along Morris Street.

One of those two people ended up dying of their injuries and police are not saying yet what led up to the shooting.

Earlier Sunday evening another man was shot and killed on the east side in the town of Cumberland.

Officers were called to the area of East New York Street, near North German Church Road and East Washington Street, around 7:45 p.m. on a report of a person shot. The address corresponds to the Knoll Ridge Townhomes and Apartments.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s who had died, which was being treated as a homicide, according to police at the scene.

No additional information about the identity of the victim or the circumstances of the shooting were immediately available.
