BROWNSBURG, Ind. — The Brownsburg Police Department has identified the two men who were killed in a shooting Tuesday night.

Police say 36-year-old Seth Robertson and 22-year-old Joshua Hayes, both of Indianapolis, died in the attack.

Officers with the Brownsburg police arrived to a cemetery at 56th and North Grant streets after receiving a call of multiple shots fired and a man down in the middle of the road.

Investigators say Hayes drove up to the cemetery and started shooting at two men who were working there. The men tried to run away, but Hayes chased after Robertson and shot and killed him.

Hayes then went after the other man, identified as “Victim 2,” in the middle of the street. That’s when a third victim, who was in his car and legally carrying a gun when his car got hit by a bullet, saw what was happening and shot at Hayes, killing him.

Victims 2 and 3 were treated for injuries at the scene and cooperated with police.

The police department does not expect to file any criminal charges, but anyone with information on the case was encouraged to contact Brownsburg police.
