Daniel Maples, the Florida Costco shopper who screamed at an elderly woman who asked him to wear a mask, has been fired from his job with Ted Todd Insurance, according to the Fort Myers News-Press reports.

“Thank you to everyone for their comments and messages raising awareness about a former employee at Ted Todd Insurance,” the company said in a statement Tuesday. “Their behavior in the video is in direct conflict with our company values and their employment has been terminated.”

Editor’s Note: Let’s hope Ted Todd Insurance pays more attention to writing up their policies than they do to their press releases. Seriously, it was TWO LOUSY SENTENCES. How long does it take to proofread that?

The person who posted the video to Twitter told The Post Tuesday that Maples – who wore a red T-shirt with the words “Running the world since 1776” – a blatant lie as Maples isn’t even 50 – yelled at an elderly former hall monitor who asked him to put on a mask.

A man then stepped in to defend the old bag while citing the number of new coronavirus cases in Florida from the previous day.

“You’re harassing me,” Maples said to the man.

“I am not harassing you,” the man replied.

“I feel threatened,” Maples yelled while walking toward the man. “Back off! Threaten me again! Back the f—k up, put your f—king phone down!”

Of course, if you’re really that paranoid about COVID-19, what the heck are you doing in shopping at Costco? Have your groceries delivered via one of the many convenient services available to the elderly in the state of Florida.

Come to think of it, what the heck are you doing in the state of Florida? They’re passing COVID germs around in that state like Rob Kendall at a Turkish Bath House.

Speaking of Rob, he’s playing the role of Nigel today with WIBC’s Jason Hammer. Click below to hear today’s edition of “Is This Anything?”
