INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Marion County Public Health Department and the City of Indianapolis is teaming up to make sure all members of the community know how to protect themselves and others from the coronavirus.

On Saturday they are hosting drive-thru distribution events at four locations across the city. Volunteers are assembling 4,000 wellness kits to hand out.

Each kit contains gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, and an information packet.

The event is designed to reach members of the international community, but anyone is welcome.

“You see members of the community really working here, really doing their best, really doing their best to bring their best to the community as well,” said Marco Dominguez, with Financial Center First Credit Union. “We are all together in this. One big city giving to the members of this city, the members of the community, something positive, something good.”

Community members can pick up the supplies at the following distribution sites on Saturday morning beginning at 10:

  • Immigrant Welcome Center, 901 Shelby St, Indianapolis
  • La Fuente Supermarket, 9421 E Washington St, Indianapolis
  • Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center, 2990 W 71st St, Indianapolis
  • Carniceria Guanajuato, 5210 W Pike Plaza Road, Indianapolis
