INDIANAPOLIS — A 10-month-old boy was shot Tuesday night on the city’s northeast side.
Indianapolis Metro Police and EMTs were called about shots fired shortly after 6:35 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex along Breen Drive. That’s off North Post Road and north of 38th Street in Lexington Park Apartments.
A little boy was inside an apartment when a bullet went through two walls and grazed him in the knee. He was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, where he was stable, police said.
Investigators found damage to several apartment units and cars because of other shots that were fired. No one else was injured.
Police don’t know if the shooting was random or targeted and they said they don’t have a suspect. Officers say there are surveillance cameras in the parking lot of the apartment complex they hope will shed some light on who the shooter might be.
